San Diego wedding photography captures the happiness and festive mood of matrimony, and a good photographer will be able to do it in ways that present works of art rather than just pictures. Capturing those timeless moments is something that a good professional will be able to do with seeming ease, although it takes years of education to know exactly what to look for and how to capture everything just right. Every San Diego wedding photography professional has his own way of doing things, her own way of bringing the magic to their photos.
Wedding photography in San Diego is different from other places. There are different types of approaches that professionals use to capture images spontaneously, one of which is a photojournalistic approach. This is an alternative approach where images are captured to emphasize not only action and moments but also emotion. Their goal is to present a story through their photographs. They typically shoot images quickly using a on camera flash rather than using just traditional posing techniques and studio lights. Candid images are what their aim is instead of set up, posed pictures. They will walk around throughout the day carrying their own equipment, capturing all kinds of shots that many people would not think of capturing.
Thanks to advancements in technology, there are many more possibilities for photographers than there have been before. Remote triggers and flashes are fairly new concepts, and traveling creative lighting are also relatively new concepts. There is another type of San Diego wedding photography that is used by many professionals, and it is called Traditional, as opposed to photojournalistic. Traditional wedding photography results in more classically posed shots with much control from the photographer and basically is the opposite of photojournalistic styles. The former is posed, rehearsed and perfected while the latter is more at the spur of the moment. Most professionals will take both types of shots during the day, and yours should. It would be nice to have pictures of the bride, groom and wedding parties that are formal, and it would be just as nice to have pictures of the day showing what people were doing throughout the celebration.
Another type of San Diego wedding photography is contemporary style. The object of this style is to capture the atmosphere of the day so that people remember details instead of planned poses. This is not to be used to describe any picture that is not formal or not posed. Contemporary San Diego wedding photography is much more than just not taking formal pictures, and it involves careful use of lighting, timing and composition.
