How To Make Great Wedding Photo Books

Weddings are one of the few occasions that most always result in a photo book of some kind, however crude they may be. Sometimes they don’t turn out all that well simply because there was no real thought or planning behind them. Like most anything that you want to turn out well, it doesn’t just happen on its own. Some people can’t afford a professional photographer, so they don’t give much thought to pictures, and basically end up with some that their family members took.

You’ll be pleased to know that it’s not about money, though having a professional photographer certainly doesn’t hurt. How to make great wedding photo books is strictly about planning. If you will follow a few simple suggestions you can make a truly great wedding photo book that will impress anyone who looks at it.

You need a decent selection of pictures to choose from, which should include at least 40-60 candid shots taken at the wedding and reception (you could also include all other parties that may be planned, such as bachelorette, bachelor, shower, and rehearsal dinner), and then the usual planned shots of bride and groom with family, cutting cake, etc. (Write all these down and check them off as taken so that you don’t fail to get them).

If you have a professional photographer, great, otherwise just have at least two family members and/or friends bring their cameras with extra batteries (any $60-$100 digital camera will work just fine), and give them a list of the shots that you want, along with the candid shots. They should be able to easily take the pictures that you want without too much disruption of their enjoyment of the wedding and reception.

With all your pictures transferred to your computer, go through them and separate the ones you want to use into another file on your computer (most anyone can show you how to do this). Make notes of any captions you may want to add with certain pictures (or possibly all of them).

Go online to a web site that offers photo books, and look for one that has a simple 3-step interface to assist you, as well as some pre-made photo book templates that you like. Pick out a nice linen hard cover book with the number of pages and layout that you like. Then just transfer your pictures into the templates of the book (technology does all the hard part for you), in the order that you want them in, adding captions and a book title too. You may have your captions and title printed in any stylish font that you like, and in any colors you want. Before placing your order, preview all of your content and make any changes that you think necessary until you see that it’s exactly the way you want it, and then submit your order.

This is how to make great wedding photo books. You will be amazed when you hold yours in your hands. With its hard back linen cover (beautifully and elegantly titled), its rich looking hi-gloss pages with all your pictures and stylish captions printed on them, you have a wedding photo book that you will proudly display for everyone to see. And trust me, everyone will want to see this one.
