If you are at the beginning of the planning phase for your wedding, and are pretty excited about the idea of browsing through all the various bridal dresses on the internet, before you take the trek down to your local store to try them on, it’s likely that there are a number of things that you are not already aware of.

Your traditional bridal gown is usually quite heavy in terms of weight, a lot of fabric is used to make these dresses, and this fabric is very heavy in weight, specially the gowns that are made from satin. They also tend to have a lot of layers and embellishments and are also somewhat bulky in shape. Many of the gowns that you will find in these wedding stores need either a net or hooped underskirt to give it a satisfactory shape, if you don’t purchase this additional accessory, then you won’t be able to create the kind of effect that you’re looking for.

These gowns usually have their own train and are floor length, which has its own unique effect, especially during the wedding ceremony, but when walking down the aisle of a sandy beach, the affect can get lost. Not only is it difficult for you to walk in these floor length gowns, the dresses hem will more than likely drag on the sand making it even more difficult for the bride to walk around. The beach’s sand will also stain the wedding gown yellow, which is something that you do not want to happen.

The bridal gown that has many different folds and layers in its fabric tends to attract sand in parts of the gown where you will find it very difficult to clean off. The idea of your dress being stained yellow should be enough to deter you. Make sure the dress that you purchase is a smooth clean shape, with a minimal number of layers for the beach wedding you are planning.

I’m sure that I have already written about how heavy and bulky these traditional bridal gowns are. Because of the layers and the heavy fabric, as a result, folding the gown will have to be done with a lot of care, if you intend to get it into a suitcase, and it’s also likely that you will have to house it inside its own suitcase.

Having a wedding on the beach, is an informal event that your typical traditional bridal gown is unable to fit into, you want to go with a dress that is sleek and classy, and is around ankle length, relatively light in weight, and is comfortable to walk around in for long periods of time.
