Color schemes are important in deciding a color palette for your wedding invitations, flowers, bridesmaid dresses and bridal shower decorations among other wedding decorations. You do not need to have all colors in a color scheme represented in each of those items.

One important thing to remember is if you choose a dominant color that you feel looks great on you and build from that, you can be guaranteed you will dazzle. Everything around you will complement your skin tone.

Color inspirations

There is a range of unique color combinations you can use for your summer wedding. You can use these color ideas to draw inspiration.

Poolside

Such color combos would include blue and white; turquoise and white; yellow and blue and various shades of blue. All these color combinations would provide perfect color ideas even if your wedding is nowhere near water.

Summer sunset

One of the most beautiful spectacles is a summer sunset, especially when located against an outstanding natural backdrop like a beach. Color ideas emanating summer sunsets include pink and orange; yellow, red and orange; dusky greys and sky blues and sandy colors coupled with pinks and oranges.

Rainbow colors

Summer also provides you with the opportunity to use assorted colors, especially bright colors. A rainbow color scheme includes a variety of colors like aqua, lime and yellow; yellow, bright pink, orange and green; red, pink and orange; purple, yellow, blue and green; purple, pink and yellow.

Go green

You can also choose the various shades of green to match the green plant life prevalent in summer. These color schemes include various green hues, green coupled with bright colors such as yellow, pink, or purple; pale green coupled with pink, pretty lavender, or white; or a tropical deep green depicting a rich rainforest.

Pretty pastels

Although pastel colors such as pale blue, baby pink and lavender are popular choices for spring weddings, they are also great color picks for summer weddings. Examples of pastel combinations include lavender and pale blue; shades of pale yellow and white; sage and lilac; rose and cream; peach and pink; mocha and pale coral.

Natural neutrals

Neutral colors look fresh and wonderful for summer. Color schemes under this category would be white and silver; khaki or sand and white; shades of cream and white; sand and beige.

Other color ideas

Other great color ideas include:

Green combined with purple, orange or coral

Brown with blue

Royal blue with bright yellow

Bright pink with orange

Deep orange with cranberry red

Turquoise blue with beige

Navy blue with silver

Other important factors to consider when selecting a color wedding scheme is the time of day the wedding will be and whether it will be indoors or outdoors. If it is an outside wedding, take note of the surroundings and find colors that complement those surroundings.

With summer weddings, your choice of color selection and combination is limitless. Use that to produce that dream wedding you always dreamed of.
