Invitations sent to wedding attendees for a wedding are always in good faith that the invited guests will be able to attend the wedding and grace the occasion with his or her presence. Some guests however tend to be embarrassing to a couple and kill the morale of a couple in sending more invites.
Others may not be very appreciative of the gesture and may not even take time to respond to whether or not they will attend. Some of the wedding guests may even come dressed inappropriately killing the mood and the morale of the couple.
But just how can you be the best guest in a wedding party? Here are some ideas that could enhance how you carry yourself in a wedding party even before the actual ceremony:
Once you have received the invitation to attend a wedding assure that if you are in an area where you need to travel far away to attend the wedding that you plan well. Planning could involve making a reservation of a plane ticket way ahead of time. A hotel booking can be made at this same time when you decide to attend the wedding.
Buy the gifts you wish to give to the couple early enough.
Respond to the RSVP as soon as possible in order to help the couple in planning for the ceremony and reception. For the wedding ceremony that are restricted ensure that you only bring in a guest if the invitation suggests so.
Dress properly for the occasion. The choice of attire should neither be embarrassing nor well thought for the ceremony. If the invitation says a black tie wedding, the men should go for the tuxedos while the women should wear formal dresses. If you are not sure of the dress code of the wedding do not dress up too much.
Bring children along only if the invitation does not restrict this. Wedding are traditional events and could be a bit rigid for children who would wish to run around having their free time.
Arrive on time before even the wedding.
Keep time and you could choose to arrive say fifteen minutes before the ceremony begins. In order to congratulate the newly weds, do not hurry to congratulate them wait if there is a queue to congratulate them and do not be too much.
Remain quiet and attentive during the toasts to the bride and groom and wait for the bride and groom to open the floor with their dance before you set to dance. Always remember that you are not the only one who has been invited to the wedding thus do not keep seeking to speak to the couple as it may seem awkward.
Be at your best for the wedding and the couple will admire it.
